Project Story: Custom Staffing Contributes to Revitalization of Downtown Lima

Project Stories January 13, 2017

Custom Staffing, a leading staffing agency in Ohio, helps fill positions for temporary, temp-to-hire, direct hire, large project-based workforces, and individually qualified candidates. The agency operates ten offices and offers a wide range of employment opportunities to thousands of job seekers at every level.

In 2012, Custom Staffing relocated their corporate headquarters to downtown Lima. Custom Staffing was looking for a building that would properly represent the quality and culture of their company. The building that the agency moved into was not ideal for these things. The building was outdated, unattractive, and looked like a pharmacy. It simply didn’t suit the company’s culture; they wanted an innovative and bright workspace and an exterior facade that would contribute to the revitalization of downtown Lima. Lastly, the agency wanted to increase the value of the building. With all of these problems to solve, Custom Staffing decided to bring in Trisco Construction Services, LLC (TCS) to revamp their outdated office building and bring it back to life.

Project Story: Custom Staffing

Trisco Construction Services, LLC was the general contractor and project leader, utilizing design assistance from a partner architectural firm. The project was first presented to and approved by the city of Lima’s Architectural Review Board, because it fell within a geographical zone where aesthetic changes are controlled.

After receiving design approval from Lima’s Architectural Review Board, TCS moved forward with the project, and completed the following tasks:

  • Removal of the masonry veneer to create new window openings, while keeping the interior drywall in place so as not to interrupt operations inside.
  • Removal and replacement of masonry for installation of new structural steel beams.
  • Removal and reinstallation of deteriorating masonry.
  • Installation of EIFS cladding, soffit, and efficient lighting system.
  • Installation of new high-efficiency storefront windows and tinted glass.

established and maintained a safe route, whereby Custom Staffing’s employees and applicants were able to enter and exit the main entrance easily.
